Defying Species Norms: The Unlikely Friendship of an Orphaned Elephant and Labrador Bella, Bonded by Puddle-Tag Play

This is the heartwarming tale of the extraordinary friendship between Bubbles, a rescued orphaned elephant, and Bella, the Labrador.

Bubbles defies the conventional image of an elephant; her favorite pastime involves playing tag with her canine companion, who barely reaches her knee height.

Even as Bubbles plunges into a sizable puddle, Bella manages to retrieve the ball by cleverly climbing onto the backs of these gentle giants.

Residing at Myrtle Beach Safari, Bubbles was airlifted from Africa as a young calf after her parents fell victim to poaching for their tusks.

In their playful antics, Bella leads her pachyderm pal in a game of tag, both frolicking in and around the water.

“They simply relish their strolls together.”

The inhabitants of Myrtle Beach Safari contribute to a wildlife conservation initiative known as the Southern California Rare Species Fund.

Having grown to a weight of about 4 tons and standing at over 9 feet tall, Bubbles has come a long way since her arrival, when she weighed merely 150kg and measured a modest 3.5 feet in height.

Bubbles was among several orphaned animals brought to the United States, rescuing them from inadequate housing and care in Africa.

Her life took a remarkable turn after gaining fame in movies like Ace Ventura, Malaika, and even making an appearance in a Janet Jackson music video.
