Opting for Newfoundlands instead of a horse, Joshua carefully selected this larger breed after thorough research on breeds suitable for children.

Joshua and Bee Fisher from California chose to adopt two Newfoundlands as part of their family. In 2014, they welcomed Ralphie, a one-year-old Newfoundland, and added Boss, another one-year-old Newfoundland, a year later. These sizable dogs can weigh over 126lbs and measure up to six feet from nose to tail. The Fishers were initially taken aback by the sheer size of a Newfoundland when they first encountered one. Despite this, their love for these gentle giants grew, and Joshua convinced Bee to add another canine companion to their family.

Ralphie and Boss, the two lovable pups, are now accompanied by an eight-month-old baby named Tegan and his parents. While Tegan hasn’t started crawling yet, his parents are confident that he’ll soon be exploring with the dogs. The children are fascinated by the size of these gentle giants. The oldest child, Lenox, loves to relax and lie on the dogs. Three-year-old Cruz is eager to play with the pups, poking and prodding them. Tegan, although too young to crawl, will soon join in the fun with Ralphie and Boss. Ralphie weighs in at 125 pounds, while Boss tips the scales at a hefty 160 pounds. Once fully grown, Boss is expected to reach a whopping 190 pounds.
